9421 - East River Mountain Tunnel - Virginia Dept. of Transportation - Virginia

Safety was imperative to the customer and we had full responsibility to provide all emergency back-up power during the renovation change over. This project involved extensive coordination / scheduling to ensure safety of public access to the tunnel at all times during the project renovation period.

 

The scope of work included the removal of existing ATS’s , Emergency Generators and the design, delivery and installation of (2) new generators, ATS, Exhaust, Coolant systems, performing coordination study and providing new relaying and modifications to the circuiting into the control building.. Providing new control room modifications, high voltage line, emergency, load & control connections.

National Electrical Systems quickly assigned a Project Manager to maintain a Quality Control and Safety Program. Meticulous attention to detail, of numerous contractual submittal requirements, was achieved at the highest standard. Qualified subcontractor personnel were screened and hired to complete the physical retrofit operation.

Remarkable and inspiring results were achieved in this contract. Administrative & management support, was provided both on-site and at our offices in Boonville, NY with continuous communications to all project members & subcontractors.
